“Therapy is not a sign of weakness. It’s a sign of growth.” – Unknown

I hold a Master of Counselling degree from the University of Calgary and completed a three-year Somatic Experiencing Professional (SEP) training prior to that. My academic foundation began with an undergraduate degree in humanities from the University of Victoria, which continues to inform my thoughtful, whole-person approach.
For over a decade, I worked in the non-profit sector supporting women-identified survivors of violence, trauma, and abuse — helping individuals reclaim their lives and move toward financial independence. I’ve also spent many years assisting those in career transition, navigating barriers to employment and accessing meaningful work.
Most recently, I’ve worked in post-secondary settings, where I supported students from diverse cultural backgrounds in managing the complexities of student life. My roles in this sector have also focused on sexualized violence prevention and response, and I have a particular commitment to supporting survivors of gender-based violence with compassion, dignity, and care.
I believe that to effectively support others, I must also remain engaged in my own healing and development. I’m committed to ongoing personal therapy and regular clinical supervision, both of which help me show up as a grounded, reflective, and ethical practitioner. This process allows me to navigate my work with greater depth and presence, and ensures that I continue learning and growing alongside those I support.
Outside the counselling room, you’ll find me spending time with my daughter and loved ones, swimming in lakes, walking forest trails, or practicing yoga. I am a lifelong Vancouver Islander and grew up in Campbell River — the traditional and unceded territory of the Kwakwaka’wakw peoples.
My Approach
I believe therapy should feel like it fits you—not the other way around. That’s why I take an integrative, person-centered approach, drawing from multiple modalities to support your unique needs. My goal is to create a space that feels safe, supportive, and tailored to your journey—where you can show up just as you are and feel truly seen.
Here is what is at the core of my practice:
Trauma-Informed
Trauma isn’t always loud — sometimes it shows up in difficulty trusting others, feeling too much or not enough, or a chronic sense of aloneness. We work with that at your pace.
Somatic
Together, we gently explore how emotion lives in the body — not just the mind — using somatic practices to reconnect with inner truths.
Relational & Attachment-Oriented
If your past relationships left echoes of mistrust, emotional neglect, abuse or abandonment, counselling can offer a new relational experience — one that’s steady, attuned, and safe.
Social Justice Oriented
Many emotional wounds are shaped by systems — not personal shortcomings. We often come to therapy thinking we are broken. In truth, we are responding exactly as anyone would when their needs have been unmet or their identity erased.
