I’m Carrie, a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) and founder of Everett Counselling Services in Greater Victoria, BC. With over 20 years of experience in professional helping roles, I support adults navigating complex trauma, relationship pain, and major life changes. I offer specialized care for survivors of relational trauma and sexual and gender‑based violence, using a somatic, attachment‑oriented, trauma‑informed approach.
While my practice is grounded in a long history of supporting women’s wellbeing and mental health care, I offer individual counselling to adults of any gender identity who are seeking support with present-day challenges or healing from historical trauma. I provide both short-term counselling and long-term psychotherapy.
I see my role as a therapist is that of a companion, walking alongside fellow humans who may be feeling lost and longing for greater wellbeing, authenticity, inner stability, healthier relationships, and a more vibrant sense of self.

I support adults through intense and confusing life experiences by creating a safe, steady space to slow down, feel seen and heard, and begin to make sense of what’s happening inside.
Traumatic experiences, major life transitions, and relational endings are inherently destabilizing. And yet, once some steadiness returns, these moments can also become fertile ground to explore undiscovered parts of yourself, tend to old wounds, and intentionally shape an empowering new chapter for yourself.
My counselling approach is relational, trauma-informed, holistic, and integrates somatic psychotherapy techniques. This approach recognizes the connection between the mind and body and helps to process traumatic experiences in a safe and supportive environment. Therapy can help you reconnect with your inner strength, rebuild a sense of safety, and move through life with more confidence. Over time, many people find themselves cultivating healthier relationships, feeling more grounded and steady, and experiencing a renewed sense of wholeness. Healing can feel like more joy, more ease, more self‑love, and a growing sense of self-trust.
Clients often share that they feel lighter after the first session, grateful for a space where they can show up as their whole self. Many describe a sense of relief and renewed energy, even as they connect with deep pain and difficult truths. With steady weekly or bi‑weekly sessions, you’ll gain traction, clarity, and meaningful change, but wherever you are in your process, I’m here to meet you where you are at.
My goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental therapeutic space where you can show up exactly as you are, and together, we co-create the helpful way forward that feels supportive and true for you.
All of you is welcome.
I warmly invite you to connect with me for a free, no pressure consultation call to mutually assess our fit in working together. If I am not the right therapist for you, I am committed to ensuring you access good care, and I will happily provide referrals.
My approach to therapy centers and honours your inner wisdom and voice.
Healing isn’t something I do to you, it’s something we co-create together.
My work is located on the unceded traditional territory of the Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Lək̓ʷəŋən (Lekwungen) peoples, known today as the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations. I have been privileged to live, work, and play on lək̓ʷəŋən territory as an uninvited settler for 25 years and I feel deep appreciation to the peoples of these lands.
